We offer a fun and educational week-long summer camp for young riders. Those who do not have horses boarded at Pepperock Farm will partner with one of our well-trained and experienced horses.
Morning Schedule:
The fun begins with orientation on Monday, where riders are introduced to their horses. After the introductions campers are taught the basics of grooming and tacking up, and receive a 1.5 hour riding lesson.
Following the lesson they are taught the proper way to cool down, put horses away, and clean their equipment. Grooming, tacking, riding and horsemanship lessons, and clean up will fill be morning's activities throughout camp.
Lunch: Students bring a bag lunch and a drink to enjoy under the pepper trees.
Afternoon Schedule:
After lunch we will have a variety of horse-related activities and lessons, including:
- Arts and crafts
- Proper equine feeding and nutrition
- Stable Management: with visits from the vet, farrier, and field trips to horse-related activities
Students will be given homework, and be tested on what they have learned. All our test materials are designed for the students to succeed.
Friday Horse Show:
On the last day of camp, students will put on a horse show for family and friends, to show what they have learned. It's a fun day for everyone.
