We provide riding lessons in English Hunt Seat, English Saddle Seat, Western pleasure, and driving from professional, experienced instructors. We are also an active show barn for thoses students who wish to prepare for and attend horse shows, (please see the Training & Showing page for show-related costs).
Lessons are available from beginning to advanced levels, and focus on developing each rider to her or his greatest potential. Students ride well-trained Pepperock horses that are matched to the students' experience and abilities, (or their own horses if boarded at Pepperock and appropriate for lessons).
Beginning and intermediate riders — train with Carrie White, who has many years of teaching, showing, and horse-training experience. She works to consistently reevaluate and improve riders' skills as they advance though their training.
Advanced and show riders — train with Diane Durant. Diane ensures that riders who own or lease a show horse are working in harmony with the horse, and are taught advanced techniques, and showmanship skills, that prepare them for the show ring. All our show riders have won top ribbons on the West Coast show circuit.
Cancellation of any lesson requires a minimum of 4 hours notice. If less than 4 hours notice is given, or you do not call or show up for your lesson, you will automatically be charged for the lesson and will not be able to make it up. Make-up lessons must be completed before the end of the current month or they will be forfeited.
